Join the Global Online Stakeholder Consultation for the 2025 UN Ocean Conference 

The Global Online Stakeholder Consultation for the 2025 UN Ocean Conference is now open for contributions! This important initiative is a key step in preparing for this conference, which will be held in Nice, France, 9-13 June 2025. The conference will focus on “Accelerating action and mobilising all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean,” aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 14 (SDG 14). 

What is the Global Online Stakeholder Consultation? 

The consultation invites diverse stakeholders—including non-governmental organizations, civil society, academic institutions, the scientific community, the private sector, philanthropic organizations, Indigenous Peoples, and local communities—to provide substantive inputs on the concept papers for the Ocean Action Panels. These panels will address ten critical themes essential for ocean sustainability.

How to Participate 

All interested stakeholders are encouraged to contribute their expertise and insights through this global consultation. Such input will be vital in shaping the discussions and outcomes of the 2025 UN Ocean Conference. 

Submission Deadline: August 30, 2024 

To participate and submit any input, please visit the Global Online Stakeholder Consultation page. Contributions will be shared publicly and will help inform the conference’s concept papers, with a summary of key outcomes prepared by United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA).
