2024 AAORIA Forum Endorsed as an Ocean Decade Activity

We are thrilled to announce that the 2024 All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance (AAORIA) Forum, set to commence on 7 October 2024 in Ottawa, Canada, has been officially endorsed as an Ocean Decade activity by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO.

This endorsement is a significant recognition of our efforts to contribute to the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030). The Ocean Decade aims to harness, stimulate, and coordinate the efforts of numerous stakeholders worldwide to study and sustainably manage the ocean. Our Forum’s endorsement underscores our alignment with these global goals and our commitment to fostering ocean science and sustainability in the Atlantic Ocean.

The Forum will bring together representatives from the Atlantic community, including All-Atlantic Partners. The 2024 AAORIA Forum will highlight opportunities for collaborative science, focusing on coordinating efforts on ocean observation and increasing our understanding of the relationship between the ocean and climate to support coastal resilience.

The Atlantic Ocean community is invited to participate in the 2024 Forum to share knowledge and inform advancements in fit-for-purpose science to achieve a healthy and sustainable Atlantic Ocean.
