Over the years, the All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance has undertaken numerous initiatives aimed at strengthening marine research and fostering international collaboration.

The All-Atlantic Joint Pilot Actions and the Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance Working Groups, now concluded, played key roles in advancing our understanding and stewardship of the Atlantic Ocean. These initiatives, resulting from many different collaborations and with the support of  the AANChOR and AORA CSAs respectively, significantly contributed to achieving the goals of the All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance.

Another key initiative, the All-Atlantic Pledging Campaign, aimed to address the Atlantic Ocean’s diverse challenges through voluntary, result-oriented commitments from individuals and institutions. Promoting cooperation and science diplomacy under the motto “TIME TO ACT: The Atlantic Ocean needs more than flowing words,” the campaign emphasized collaborative solutions in areas like climate variability, ocean observation, emerging pollutants, ocean technology, ocean resources, and polar research.
