Atlantic Summit Galway 2026 — Save the Date

The Atlantic Summit Galway 2026 will take place on 8–9 October 2026 in Galway, Ireland, bringing together leaders and stakeholders from ocean research, policy, industry and society during Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Organised by the Marine Institute, the University of Galway and Atlantic Technological University, with the support of the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, the Summit will identify critical priorities for Atlantic Ocean research, examine future skills needs and drive innovation, placing the Atlantic at the heart of Europe’s ocean agenda.

AAORIA will be represented at this high-level event, and we are pleased to share that solutions developed at the 2026 AAORIA Forum Hackathon challenges will be showcased at the Summit, with teams invited to pitch their Hackathon solutions. This is a unique opportunity to bring ideas developed in Salvador into another major science diplomacy setting, and to continue the conversation with Atlantic partners.
