All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance at the 2024 UN Ocean Decade conference

The 2024 UN Ocean Decade Conference takes place on 10-12 April in Barcelona, Spain, as the highlight of the Ocean Decade Week (8-12 April), and as cornerstone event within this framework. The conference also features over 50 on-site satellite events at the Barcelona International Convention Centre (CCIB) on 10-12 April during breakfast, lunch and evening slots. Likely to be the largest gathering of the global ocean community in 2024, the UN Ocean Decade Conference will bring together ocean stakeholders to set joint priorities for the future of the UN Ocean Decade.

The satellite event “Building a strong scientific community in support of a sustainable Atlantic Ocean” is co-branded by the All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance (AAORIA), with Niall McDonough, OKEANO CSA coordinator, amongst the speakers. This event will be on 11 April at 13:15 – 14:45, at the Atlantic Ocean Room (Area 06) in the Barcelona International Convention Centre (CCIB). Click here to learn more about the event.

On 8 April at 17:00 – 18:30, in the Auditorium, Parc de Recerca Biomèdica de Barcelona (PRBB), the event titled “Unveiling the role of G20 in the implementation and legacy of the Ocean Decade” will feature Jose Luiz Moutinho representing the All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance and the OKEANO CSA. Click here to learn more about the event.
