Participate in the JPI Oceans survey that follows its Draft Strategy revision webinar

On 24 August 2020, JPI Oceans held the Beyond 2020 Stakeholder Webinar, aiming to further include stakeholders in a holistic and participatory revision process of the JPI Oceans Strategic Framework.

The new strategic framework is meant to refresh the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) under which JPI Oceans has been operating in the six-year period since 2015, providing the building blocks for a coherent and successful pathway beyond 2020.

The event guided stakeholders through the draft revision process timeline, its goals and objectives, and priority areas (Ocean Health, Ocean Productivity and Ocean Stewardship & Governance). Speakers also highlighted the importance of cooperation with other EU, international and regional sea basin initiatives, including the All-Atlantic Ocean Research Community.

All slides and a recording from the event can be consulted here.

Survey

The All-Atlantic Ocean Research Community and other stakeholders are invited to share further feedback that could help JPI Oceans further shape the new strategic framework through an online survey, open until 21 September 2020. The feedback will be condensed into a new draft to be tabled for adoption at the next JPI Oceans Management Board Meeting in November 2020.

JPI Oceans would like to thank all webinar participants and survey respondents for enriching this revision process. Stakeholder participation and a cross-domain collaboration will be pivotal to ensuring that JPI Oceans embarks on a fruitful and impactful new phase.
