The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership will be holding its fifth and last regional workshop, focused on the Atlantic, during the European Maritime Day 2025 in Cork. Co-organised with the European Commission’s Directorate-General on Innovation and the OKEANO Consortium supporting the All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance, the workshop will explore coastal resilience challenges and cooperation opportunities across the Atlantic.

📍UCC Centre for Executive Education, Cork, Ireland

⏱️21 May 2025 | 9:30-12:30 local time

This workshop will explore opportunities and challenges related to coastal resilience across the Atlantic Ocean. The agenda includes opening statements by representatives from the Marine Institute, DG RTD, DG Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE), and the Partnership. A panel discussion will feature Dr. Alexandra-Sophie Roy from the German Marine Research Consortium (KDM) speaking about the All-Atlantic Network of Coastal Resilience Beacon Sites, the Atlantic Arc Commission, Atlantic Technological University, and the AtlantECO project, among others.

The second half of the workshop will follow a World Café format, encouraging discussion on international cooperation, social aspects, and nature-based solutions.
