A voyage into Schooner TARA

“In 1989, this schooner with the appearance of a ship of the future was born from the imagination of the French doctor-explorer Jean-Louis Étienne and from the revolutionary vision of its architects and engineers. The original idea then vowed the schooner Antarctica to take up, without risk, the challenge of the ice in order to study the polar zones in Antarctica. … the sailboat will continue to focus on the environment, education and, henceforth, science”. Tara Foundation, History chapter

Tara, the futuristic schooner is still travelling all around to Great South and the Far North, with the aim of raising awareness of the fragility and importance of the ocean, serving science by collecting samples, data and connecting with many scientists from all over the world.
