Description

Catalina Island Marine Institute (CIMI) an outdoor science school, providing an exciting outdoor education experience for 4 through 12th grade students from public and private schools. By focusing on hands-on experiential science, and utilizing our state of the art labs and equipment, we strive to increase science literacy. Our expert instructors use the natural land and sea environments of beautiful Catalina Island to stimulate minds, and most importantly, to create excitement about science. Catalina Island is a beautiful natural laboratory. Its programme is offered at three locations on Catalina Island – operated by the non-profit corporation, Guided Discoveries – including Toyon Bay, Fox Landing, and Cherry Cove. During their three- and five-day programmes, students and teachers enjoy a variety of experiential labs and field activities in Marine Science and Island Ecology. CIMI is a STEM-based programme and a Subsidiary of Guided Discoveries, a 501(c)3 educational non-profit corporation.
