MATES Project: Final Conference

MATES Project: Final Conference

Event date: 29/03/2022

MATES has focused on bridging the gap between skills demand (market needs) and skills provision (training offer) within the maritime technologies sectors, in particular the Shipbuilding and Offshore Renewable Energy. In this event the roll-out of the MATES Maritime Technologies Skills Strategy & the MATES Sustainability and Long-term Action Plan will be discussed. Followed by the main findings of the MATES project, which will be presented by key speakers who are final users of the project outcomes, and will share their views on the project’ impact achieved to date.

MATES’ objective is to develop a skills strategy that addresses the main drivers of change in the maritime industry, in particular shipbuilding and offshore renewable energy. Both sectors are strongly linked and require new capacities to succeed in an increasingly digital, green and knowledge driven economy.
