Rede Ondas is part of the Global Ocean Observation Program (GOOS), an initiative of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission – UNESCO and is coordinated by the Federal University of Rio Grande – FURG. The GOOS / Brazil Program is the Brazilian component of the Regional Alliance for Oceanography in the Upper Southwest and Tropical Atlantic Ocean – OCEATLAN, and is coordinated by the Interministerial Commission for the Resources of the Sea – CIRM, which is overseen by the Brazilian Navy.
