Many science, R&D, innovation and economic projects are now linked to the exploration and exploitation of the oceans and the space environment. Within the Directorate for Science, Technology and Innovation, the Innovation Policies for Space and Oceans (IPSO) Unit builds upon work of the former International Futures Programme (IFP). With its project on the ocean economy and innovation, and via the OECD Space Forum, IPSO contributes to priorities of the OECD Committee on Science and Technology Policy (CSTP), particularly its activities on digitalisation of the economy and emerging technologies for addressing grand challenges.
