Escuela del Mar was created is a non-formal environmental education project. It aims to inform the public about the importance of coastal biodiversity and marine conservation. The proposed objectives are achieved through the learning process of becoming a researcher; using tools and equipment at the marine laboratory, collecting bones and samples in the field and consulting the books, guides and posters that contain technical information. This experience is linked to an art workshop where children and adults share their knowledge by creating paintings and sculptures with recycled plastics and cardboard. Escuela del Mar is a free access place by the sea where children find a way to answer their own questions through experience.
