Office of Science and Technology Policy

Executive Office of the President

Danielle is currently serving as the Assistant Director for Ocean Science and Technology at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) working to address whole-of-government solutions to ocean science and technology needs. In this role, she serves as Co-Chair of the National Science and Technology Council’s Subcommittee on Ocean Science and Technology, a government-wide effort that aims to (1) identify ocean science and technology priorities, and (2) foster and facilitate coordination of disciplinary and interdisciplinary ocean research, ocean technology, infrastructure development, and partnerships.

In addition to domestic policy efforts, Danielle leads U.S. engagement in the High Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy (Ocean Panel), an international body of 19 serving world leaders with the mission of sustainably managing 100% of the ocean area under national jurisdictions. The Ocean Panel now represents approximately 50% of global coastlines, over 45% of the world’s EEZs, 26% of the world’s fisheries and 20% of the world’s shipping fleet.
