The Marine Biodiversity Hub (MBH) is one of six hubs funded by the National Environmental Science Program, a long-term commitment by the Australian Government to environment and climate research. Our research provides nationally consistent scientific information to support evidence-based decision making about marine species, marine protected areas, and pressures on the marine environment. The Hub has 10 research partners and is hosted by the University of Tasmania. The National Environmental Science Programme (NESP) Marine Biodiversity Hub responsibilities and commitments include to: (1) Design and deliver research that meets the agreed NESP research priorities and strategic interests of the Hub?s research partners and stakeholders; (2) Meet agreed milestones in the research plans on time and within budget; (3) Manage and acquit Hub finances and other contractual issues in accordance with the NESP funding agreement, sub-contracts and research plans;(4) Promote uptake of the Hub?s research by end-users; (5) Contribute to national collaboration on marine biodiversity research; (6) Provide a succession plan to sustain the Marine Biodiversity Hub into the future.
