Description:
A citizen science project, where each person can adopt a seagrass prairie and become responsible for its monitorization. The Biomares project was born from the idea of helping to preserve and recover the biodiversity of the Professor Luiz Saldanha Marine Park, included in the Arrábida Natural Park. The studies carried out so far reveal that this Marine Park presents, from the point of view of conservation, extremely interesting and important aspects to be preserved. The projects is already in its second funding cycle and it has three main activities: monitorization of a seagrass prairie, communication and public awareness and socio-economic characterization of the Marine Park and surrounding area.
