Description:
Marine Institute is the state agency responsible for marine research, technology development and innovation in Ireland. They provide scientific and technical advice to the government to inform policy and support the sustainable development of Ireland's marine resources. They also provide a number of services to promote economic development and create employment around the marine environment. Through government initiatives such as SeaFest, Ireland’s national maritime festival, and other outreach and educational activities, the Marine Institute works in partnership with government departments, other agencies and local organisations to promote our ocean wealth and increase ocean literacy among our citizens.
