The mission of the TAMAR program is to promote sea turtle recovery. It includes research, conservation and social inclusion actions. Time has showed that work can no longer be restricted to turtles. Being thus one of the keys to the success of this program is to support the development of coastal communities, offering alternatives to alleviate a social issue. Tamar’s activities are organized along three lines of action: research and applied research, environmental education and sustainable local development. By protecting turtles, it also promotes the conservation of marine and coastal ecosystems and the sustainable development of communities.
